Canada: Details of PNP Programs Held In July 2021
The provinces and territories of Canada, except Quebec and Nunavut, are organising their own Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) and select foreign candidates as per their local market needs and to minimise the shortage of skilled workforce.
The Express Entry system is Canada’s most popular and fastest immigration system, while PNPs are held by Canada's provinces and territories. At least one PNP stream of provinces and territories will be aligned with the Federal Express Entry system.
Over 6000 candidates were invited through PNPs to apply for provincial nominations for Permanent Residence in the month of July 2021. The total number of nominations under PNP for Canada PR are expected to reach 80,000 this year.
Ontario
In July, Ontario organized a total of 6 draws through its Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), while the first draw was held on July 7 Issued 21 invitations under the Entrepreneur Stream.
On July 13, the province invited 1,685 candidates under the streams-Employee Job Offer:Foreign Worker stream and Employee Job Offer:International Student stream. This is a major draw.
On July 15, the province invited 55 candidates through its first ever In-Demand Skills stream
On July 21, Ontario issued invitations to 115 bilingual Express Entry candidates
On July 27, around 1,031 skillful candidates related to 18 targeted occupations were invited. They were required to qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream.
Alberta
Alberta province organises the PNP program through its Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).
The province had held only one draw in July i.e on 14th, and invited 181 Express Entry Stream candidates with CRS scores of 301.
The momentum decreased in July compared to earlier months when draws were held regularly for every two weeks.
Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan held a total of 4 rounds in july through Saskatchewan's Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
A total of 570 profiles were invited to apply for a provincial nomination under Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories of the International Skilled Worker Category.
The number is 50+ percent more than the previous month, when 255 candidates were invited.
Manitoba
Manitoba held its draws including a record-breaking one in July and Issued 1,417 invitations under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
The targeted streams are Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas.
Province's major draw was on July 2, inviting 1,140 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.
British Columbia
Over the past month, B.C has issued 885 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination through the Express Entry British Columbia, Skills Immigration streams.
On July 19, British Columbia revealed that a temporary break is being given to the Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) stream.
However, it applies only to the Base category, while the registrations for the other EI steam categories such as Regional Pilot, Strategic Projects including Skills immigration categories are open.
Prince Edward Island
On July 15, Prince Edward Island held its pre-scheduled draw, and 127 immigrants were invited.
In the total, 118 candidates were under Express Entry and Labour Impact, while the remaining 9 invitations belonged to Business Impact candidates.
